Microsoft's new and fully refined Surface 3 was recently released and targets three key demographics; students, business and artists.

The new Surface 3 has a 10.8-inch full HD display. It comes in two variants depending on the device's storage capacity, one has 64 gigabyte of storage and 4 gigabyte of memory while the other has 128 gigabyte storage and 4 gigabyte of memory.

Both models will have a front-facing and rear camera. The two models will have USB 3.0 port, a Mini DisplayPort and uses a micro USB for charging. The power and volume buttons are located on the side of the device.

The Surface 3 comes in with two optional peripherals which adds more functionality to the device. One of it is the Surface Pen which works just like a stylus. The other is the Surface 3 Type Cover which works as a screen protector and flip-out keyboard, it also has a full set of standard keyboard keys and a touchpad.

The Surface 3 is using the Windows 8.1 operating system.

According to ZDnet, the Surface 3 has a 64-bit Intel Atom x7 processor which was primarily designed for mobile computing. The Surface 3's processor is less powerful compared to its Surface Pro 3 counterpart and is not ideal in using processor demanding tasks like video editing. The Surface 3's battery life can last a day on one charging.

The Surface 3 also comes in with a one-year free subscription to Office 365 and is also connected to Microsoft OneDrive, according to CBC News.

Starting price of the Surface 3 is $639 for the standard model. The upgraded model costs $469 while the Type Cover and the Surface Pen costs $159 and $149, respectively.
