Series creator David S. Goyer earlier expressed excitement over the texture and flavor that new showrunner John Shiban will bring into "Da Vinci's Demons" Season 3. Incidentally, Shiban is also busy with "Blackbirds," a new series airing in the same cable network, Starz.

"I've been a fan of John's work for some time and I'm excited to add his voice to the mix," Goyer was quoted as saying in a Deadline report. The order for "Da Vinci's Demons" Season 3 came over a year ago.

"Da Vinci's Demons" airs on Starz (United States) and Fox (United Kingdom). Season 3 is expected to open in early 2015, but no definite premiere date has been officially announced. Unconfirmed reports are stating the premiere date has been set on June 12.

The new season opener is still untitled on IMDB, but Peter Hoar is credited as director. Goyer and Jennifer Yale wrote the third season premiere script.

"Da Vinci's Demons" falls under the historical fantasy drama genre. It looks into the story of the legendary artist Leonardo Da Vinci during his youth in Renaissance Florence. "Da Vinci's Demons" Season 2 is currently available on iTunes.
