Ubisoft, the France-based video game publisher, recently confirmed that the newest addition to its "Assassin's Creed" franchise is set to be unveiled on May 13.
The upcoming game was initially leaked in 2014. After the leak, Ubisoft confirmed that a new "Assassin's Creed" game is in development but the company did not provide any essential information about the project.
The leak in 2014 started from Kotaku and claims that the new game will be named "Assassin's Creed Victory." The game is set in what appears to be London during the Victorian Era and based on the leaked screenshots and in-game videos, the game uses the "Assassin's Creed Unity" engine. It includes new gameplay mechanics like fighting on top of moving vehicles as well as the use of grappling hook.
According to Stuff, Ubisoft will be unveiling the new "Assassin's Creed" game on its official World Premier Live Stream on May 13. The official tagline for the game's premier is "oppression has to end."
To accompany the announcement, Ubisoft also release two teaser posters that vary based on the region it was released to. In Europe, Asia and Australia, the poster shows a pair of crossed arms, one arm holds a cane with a gold bird's head and the other is equipped with "Assassin's Creed" trademark Hidden Blade weapon.
In the American region, it shows a brass knuckles set atop a wooden desk vandalized with many etchings. The brass knuckles has the words "strength through loyalty" etched on its grip while the wooden desk has carved phrases like: "God save the Queen," "rooks," and "We forge the chains we wear in life."
Despite their previous claims, Kotaku reported that the new game will not be called "Victory" but will be named "Assassin's Creed Syndicate."
