Aptly titled "The Search," "Outlander" season 1 episode 14 featured Claire Randall (Caitriona Balfe) on a mission to rescue Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan) from the Redcoats.
Like what happened in Diana Gabaldon's novels, a wounded Ian Murray (Steven Cree) had to return to Lallybroch to tell Claire and Jenny Fraser (Laura Donnelly) the bad news that Jamie has been captured by the Redcoats.
Jenny is familiar with Lallybroch and she knows how to search for English patrols and their prisoners. This is why although she has just given birth, Jenny demanded to come along when Claire set off to go to Jamie's rescue.
With a gun at her waist, Jenny was straddling a horse as she was nonchalantly squeezing out her breast milk in the forest. While she was doing this, Claire explained her plan to ask for Jamie's release in exchange for the local English army representative named Lord Thomas (John Heffernan), who once took a shine to her.
The first thing Claire and Jenny needed to do is to find Jamie. To help them do this, the two had to torture a Redcoat courier they happen across for information. The courier had a letter that informed them about Jamie having escaped into the wilds of the Highlands.
Before the English army does, Claire then had to find Jamie. Claire and Jenny met Dougal MacKenzie (Graham McTavish), who told them is in Wentworth Prison and is sentenced to death in the next few days.
Aired on May 9, "Outlander" season 1 episode 14 titled "The Search" ended with Claire, Murtagh Fraser (Grant O'Rourke) and friends on horseback on their way to Wentworth Prison.
"Outlander" season 1 episode 15 titled "Wentworth Prison" will air on May 16.
