The 38-year-old actor has mentioned 1991 referring to the year that the Marvel character made his first appearance in the comic book, "The New Mutants," Hollywood Reporter stated. The character, which was first introduced as a villain, but later developed into an anti-hero, is known for a bleak sense of humour and a bumbling insanity along with a talkative nature.

"Deadpool," was first introduced to cinemagoers in 2009 in the movie, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine." The movie was a huge hit and the Reynolds' character gained immense popularity among audience owing to his humourous effect. A solo spin-off of the character was decided then but it could not take off until 2014. The flick, currently in production and is set to release on Feb 12, 2016, also stars Morena Baccarin, Gina Carrano and T.J. Miller, Deadline reported.

This is not the first time that Reynolds has posted a light hearted picture of his Marvel character online.  Last month, Blake Lively's husband tweeted a picture of him in the complete costume of the character perched on a toilet seat and reading a comic while in March, the actor teased his fans by sharing another pic of "Deadpool," this time resting on a bearskin rug in front of a fireplace, apparently mimicking iconic picture of Burt Reynolds.
