HTC One M8 GPE got the Android 5.1 Lollipop OS update last month and next in line for the update is the HTC One M7 Google Play Edition.

However, if one wants to get hold of the update early then it can be manually downloaded as well. For the automatic update, connect the device to a Wi-Fi connection and then accept the OS update. This process will complete the upgrade automatically, according to GSM Arena.
Apart from escalating up the operating system of the device, the Android 5.1 update will also make some crucial security fixes for the smart phone. It will also enhance the stability and the overall performance of the device.
Other small features such as dual SIM support, HD voice calling, tweaks for wireless connections, volume controls, notifications controls, device protection and new animations will also be included in this update.
The Android 5.1 Lollipop OS update is not the latest version of the operating system, and devices like Nexus already use the latest version. This delay in launching the for HTC One M7 Google Play Edition devices is irking their users no end.
