Recent reports and leaks confirm that Microsoft is developing new apps to be included in the upcoming Windows 10 operating system. Some industry analysts even predict that the apps embedded in Windows 10 will play a crucial role in its overall success once it is released.
Since it was first announced, Microsoft has been very secretive about the apps that will be integrated in Windows 10. However, leaked screenshots as well as rumors gave out hints as to what Microsoft has been working on.
According to PC World, Microsoft is developing a new Windows Phone app called Revolve. This app mashes different features from Microsoft Outlook, Lync and other Microsoft Office components into one streamlined application.
Revolve can provide users with basic information about a certain person. It shows the person's likes and dislikes as well as several personal information that would prove useful especially when transacting business.
Another app rumored to be part of Windows 10 is Office Now. Office Now sounds suggestive of another service called Google Now. In fact, Office works the same way as its Google counterpart.
Office Now is the upgraded version of Windows personal assistant Cortana. Microsoft tweaked Windows Now to be more proactive in doing tasks which makes it more reliable as compared to Cortana.
Perhaps the most interesting feature to be added to Windows 10 is the recently unveiled Windows Hello. The feature was recently leaked through a screenshot of the Windows build 10125.
According to WinBeta, Windows Hello will provide a new level of security for the Windows 10 operating system. Windows Hello will allow users to log in their Windows account using their facial features. It uses a special hardware with infrared sensors to authenticate users who are trying to log in their accounts. Additionally, the feature needs a PIN before it can be activated in the Windows 10 Settings.
