A cancer-stricken teen who went to prom with NFL player Sen'derrick Marks, 28, died on May 21, according to Wolfson Children's Hospital.

Khameyea Jennings, 18, was diagnosed with liver cancer in May 2013. She went to prom with the 6-foot-2 defensive tackle for the Jacksonville Jaguars earlier this month.

According to Marks, he jumped at the chance to make a difference in Jennings' life after Dreams Come True of Jacksonville approached his team about the prom invitation. Before asking Jennings to Frank H. Peterson Academies of Technology's prom, Marks visited her at Wolfson where she was undergoing treatment and brought her a bouquet of flowers.

Jennings and Marks both wore white with gold when they went to the prom together. Along the Jaguars' defensive line, Marks drove the pair to prom in his Lamborghini, according to The Florida Times-Union.

Recently, Marks ranked number 76 in the Top 100 Players Of 2015 list. Announced by NFL Network on May 20, the news made Marks the first Jacksonville Jaguars' defensive player to appear on the annual list of the league's best players in the five years it has been selected.

Last season, Marks made a record of 8.5 sacks, which is the third best for a defensive tackle in the NFL. In his sixth pro season, he recorded 44 tackles, which include 15 tackles for loss. Also, he had 16 quarterback hurries and knocked down three passes.

Chosen by NFL players, the list puts Matt Ryan at number 77, Ryan Kerrigan at number 78, Marshall Yanda at number 79, and Arlan Foster at number 80.
