Tom Cruise's latest project and follow-up to last year's hit "Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol" will see the actor trying out more stunts as Ethan Hunt. And these new stunts will feature underwater scenes that are actually very dangerous to shoot.

The actor revealed some new details about his stunt, which involved diving without an oxygen tank for aid. In an exclusive interview with USA Today, the "Mission Impossible" veteran said that this was done to achieve a more tension-laden suspense scene.

"We wanted to create a suspense underwater sequence without cuts. We're underwater and we're doing breath-holds of 6 to 6 ½ minutes," said Cruise in a statement released to the publication.

To achieve this-and maintain the actor's safety-Cruise had worked and trained for weeks with an underwater trainer for his diving scene. Interestingly, not only Cruise, but also his fellow "MI5" cast were able to tap into their inner athletes in terms of performing death-defying stunts.

Apart from the stunts and the high-testosterone scenes from the latest trailer, fans waiting for "Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation" can also check out a sneak peek of the Next Level TV spot. Here, Ethan and the gang are showcased in the car chase, the underwater scene and the chopper-dangle shot, as seen below.

This comes after the release of character posters for "Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation. Returning actors from "Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol" Tom Cruise as Ethan Hunt, Jeremy Renner as former IMF field agent William Brandt and Simon Pegg as tech field agent Benji Dunn spearhead the cast. The different character posters are featured by ComingSoon, including those for Alec Baldwin in his role as the head of the CIA and one of the sources of conflict in the film.

Other stars of the "Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation" include Rebecca Ferguson as Ilsa Faust, Ving Rhames as Luther Stickell and Sean Harris, as another baddie. The movie is slated for release this summer on July 31.
