Batteriser is an invention that includes a basic steel sleeve that increases disposable battery life up to eight times. The new battery technology has a $2.50 unit price and uses all 1.5 volts of the power source

Today the alkaline battery industry is worth $3.5 billion annually in the United States. Batteriser could be a game changer.

Bob Roohparvar, California PhD electrical engineer, developed the new battery device, according to PC World. It has full patent protection.

Batteriser will go on sale this September, with a price tag of $10 for a four-pack, according to BGR. The battery gadget  uses new tech to extend battery life.

A fresh alkaline battery  normally produces 1.5 volts, but is non-functional in most gadgets when its output falls to 1.4 volts or so. Even when the battery still has power, the electrical circuits in several devices read the unit as a dead battery.

Enter the Batteriser. It basically jump-starts the battery voltage, so instead of Energizer and Duracell batteries fizzling out at 20 percent the Batteriser sucks out a full 100 percent of the battery power.

While the Batteriser is not the first voltage booster that increases disposable battery life, with a 0.1 mm-thick stainless steel sleeve it is certainly the most compact one.

The new device extends alkaline battery life for AAA to D units. Batteriser can also extend battery life from 4.9 times for gadgets such as remote controls, to 9.1 times for different electronic toys.

Batteriser's boost circuits can charge up alkaline batteries with 0.6 volts, to 1.5 volts. Roohparvar noted that this is the voltage of a new battery.

One of the main benefits of the new battery booster is the ability to save the consumer big bucks by making an alkaline battery 800 percent more efficient. After three life cycles of batteries, the battery tool pays for itself.

Batterisers are also "green." A longer disposable battery life can reduce the 15 billion pieces that fill landfills.

Roohparvar could end up bundling Batterisers with battery packs from major manufacturers. However, his main goal is for consumers to enjoy the new tech.
