Drones, unmanned aerial vehicles, are on the rise to improving health assistance. Ambulance drone was created by Alec Momont, a graduate from Netherland's Deft University of Technology in October 2014, to deploy health assistance during the emergency and difficult situations.

According to Alec Momont, the targets were joined by future innovation consultancy Living Tomorrow and their client University Hospital of Ghent.

Ambulance drones may provide emergency assistance to the health victims by dropping off emergency medication equipment (i.e. oxygen masks and poison antidotes). Facilitating search and rescue operations through seas, mountains and other areas that render to be difficult for land rovers to operate.

It also provides health assistance during disasters ,such as floods, fire and earthquakes, that may immobilize emergency personnel for some time in providing medical assistance a well as getting blood and tissue samples and delivering them safely to laboratories under a specific timetable.

An ambulance drone is GPS-guided, travelling 4.6 square miles for less than a minute. Upon reaching the location, it works under the supervision of emergency personnel and provides live streaming audio and video guide on how to use the defibrillator it carries correctly and transmit the patient's vital signs during the process.

Drones have already been serving the United States military since 1970 through the provision of surveillance and other kinds. With the invention of a prototype that carries a defibrillator to a heart victim, its capabilities are said to improve continually over time, TNW reported.

Challenges are set forth for this kind of drones before it becomes up and running in markets.  A lot of things still needs be to consider whether or not this  ambulance drone will be in action, some industry aside from health is also considering it in extending assistance such as deliveries of consumer goods.
