Google Nexus 5 2015 release date may happen anytime soon after the device went missing in action at Google's I/O tech conference. At the said event, the tech giant revealed some of the upcoming features of the new Nexus smartphone.

Google introduced the new Android M operating system at the tech conference, which includes new features like Android Pay and improved OS performance. The new firmware has no official release date yet, but consumers can expect the software to arrive with the new Nexus device coming later this year.

Moreover, Android Police cited reliable sources saying that Google will give two-year guarantee for Android OS updates. This means that Nexus devices will receive the succeeding two versions of Google's operating system. The report added that Google devices will be guaranteed to receive security patches for at least 18 months from the date of purchase in the Google Store/Play Store.

Another feature that we are looking at is a fingerprint sensor. Although this feature is no longer new to Nexus 5 2015 rivals, the inclusion of such feature will be beneficial for the smartphone as it will open new features similar to other smartphones, according to Android Origin.

In addition, all upcoming smartphones are rumored to sport the all-new Type-C USB port, which is also dubbed as a universal port that will be beneficial to a device as it will be compatible to future ports.

Rumors are floating that Google wants to go back to its most famous handset, which is the LG Nexus 5. Grapevine claimed that the decision was made after the current Nexus 6 was proved to be unpopular among consumers due to its very steep price in comparison with its predecessor.

Either LG and Huawei are reportedly being tapped to take the helm in making the new Google Nexus 5 2015. Predictions point to October for possible Nexus 5 2015 release.
