Nearly two years after "Grand Theft Auto 5" was released, a lot of rumors claim that Rockstar Games is currently working on the game's sequel, "Grand Theft Auto 6." What is interesting about these recent rumors is that it puts actor Ryan Gosling as the new protagonist of the upcoming installment.

Rockstar Games, developer of the "Grand Theft Auto" series, has yet to confirm whether a new installment is under development. However, Rockstar North president Leslie Benzies confirmed that they are considering a lot of ideas about how the next installment will be presented. Benzies did not directly say that a "Grand Theft Auto" sequel is under development but fans of the series considers his statement as a confirmation that there is indeed an upcoming game.

When asked about the possibility of "Grand Theft Auto 6," Benzies told Develop, "We've got about 45 years worth of ideas we want to do. We don't know what GTA 6 will be, but we've got some idea."

According to Day Herald, rumors are brewing that "Grand Theft Auto 6" will be set in London. Additionally, there are suggestions to relocate the game's setting into the Middle Eastern region with added terrorist scenarios.

"Grand Theft Auto 6" setting and location is the subject of many online debate and speculation with some claiming that Rockstar Games is planning to mash-up all the locations in previous incarnations of the game. The game's setting, according to speculation, will be in the 1980's.

According to Vine Report, if "Grand Theft Auto 6" is indeed in development, the game will be released for the PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 platform with support for next-generation consoles.

Release date for the upcoming "Grand Theft Auto" sequel is estimated to be around the end of 2018 or early 2019.
