"Game of Thrones" Season 5 is about to end but the Sand Snakes, much loved characters among many readers of "A Song of Ice And Fire," have yet to take a win. Ellaria appears to have softened in a scene in Episode 9 ("The Dance of Dragons"). However, her talk with Jamie Lannister suggests she may not be done just yet.

Spoiler alert: This update contains "Game of Thrones" Season 5 spoilers. Read on at your own risk.

Ellaria Sand has been crying vengeance for Prince Oberyn a.k.a the Red Viper, but Prince Doran Martell has been determined to remain peaceful. Incidentally, it appears that no one in Dorne has heard about Cersei's imprisonment as of Episode 9.

Ellaria has gone to as far as insulting Prince Doran, using his physical difficulties to attack him on personal level. This happens when Doran decides to set Jamie Lannister and Bronn free. The ruler of Dorne also decides that Myrcella and Trystane are both going to King's Landing. Toward the end, Ellaria finds herself kissing Prince Doran's ring for absolution.

Still it is possible that there is more for Ellaria Sand in the final episode of "Game of Thrones" Season 5. Jamie's reaction to her spiel on Cersei's evil schemes may develop into something interesting. After all, Tyene Sand and Bronn have already established a healthy rapport. In addition, DeObia Oparei (who plays Areo), called Indira Varma's Ellaria a "firebrand" in the current season.

"Ellaria didn't have as much to do last season as she does this season. This season she comes out as a firebrand, and I hope that will be the same with Areo," DeObia Oparei told Vulture. So far, Ellaria has been mostly just mad with her desire for vengeance. It would be great to see her get something really done in Season 5.

"Game of Thrones" on HBO have significantly altered the character of Ellaria Sand from "A Song of Ice And Fire," the book series by George R.R. Martin. This offends many book fans, but it also makes a lot of them wondering what happens next in this altered storyline.

According to IMDB, Ellaria and the Sand Snakes are part of the "Game of Thrones" Season 5 finale, titled "Mother's Mercy." The same list, however, does not include Cersei, who has something big to do in the finale, according to the synopsis. Still, fans need not guess forever; the finale airs June 14 on HBO.
