Sony Xperia M4 Aqua that was first unveiled at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2015 in March is now available for buyers to purchase in the United States. Xperia M4 Aqua is a midrange phone designed by the Japanese tech giant that is packed with impressive features and specs.
As the first retailer in the U.S. to begin the sales of the Xperia M4 Aqua, the retailer giant Amazon is selling the unlocked 8 GB internal storage variant of the device that has a model number of E2203. It has listed the handset with a price tag of $349.
Sony has launched a new promotional website Dirty Phones for the Xperia M4 Aqua that is built with a chassis that can resist scratch, dust and water. The ad claims that around 92 percent of handsets have bacteria such as E.coli that are found in feces thriving on them.
It adds that germs come in contact with the handset through handshakes, sweat, and cash and also through places like subways and restaurants that people visit every day. Sony claims that the best way to free the handset from germs it to wash it and that's what Xperia M4 Aqua is capable of. The Japanese tech giant has also listed instructions on how to the wash the device so that users do not end up voiding the warranty.
As far as the specs of the device are concerned, the device comes with a 5-inch HD screen supporting a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. The display that boasts of a scratch resistant glass for enhanced protection offers a pixel density of 294 ppi.
Since the device is IP68 certified, it does not get damaged when it is immersed in water with a depth of 1.5 meters for about 30 minutes. Snapdragon 615 chipset powers Xperia M4 Aqua with its octa-core processor that can produce a clocking speed of up to 1.5 GHz. The chipset also features Adreno 405 graphics and the SoC is supported by a RAM of 2GB.
In addition, it comes with two variants of internal storage- 8GB and 16GB. Externally, microSD storage of up to 32 GB is supported. The rear side has a 13MP camera while the front comes with a 5MP selfie camera.
It comes preloaded with Android 5.0 Lollipop and offers connectivity options like 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and so on. It is powered by a non-removable battery of 2,400 mAh capacity.
