The "Dishonored 2" trailer showed a country in the middle of a revolution and tyranny. This time, the user's character is Emily Kaldwin, the only rightful heir to the throne based on the original game version. Kaldwin will have a grappling, blue, organic hook which she could use to scale buildings, quickly. Aside from portraying an heir's adventure, players are also given an option to play as Corvo, the first game's hero.

Kaldwin infiltrated a home and assassinated her target at the beginning of the trailer. Other details featured in the trailer included Kaldwin being flanked by robotic guards, the outsider who delivered his powers to Corvo, and the iconic mask. Arkane and Bethesda promised fans that anyone could play the game without killing anyone.

In 2013, Arkane revealed that its next game would share plenty of similar features to the original "Dishonored" version, under the same Bethesda franchise.

The Empire of the Isles in "Dishonored 2" will be in peril once again as another worldly usurper tries to seize the throne.

Its original game, set in a Victorian-era somewhere in England, was launched in 2012, almost a year after the game development was brought up in public. The game received wide acclaim, getting a 9.0 score from Polygon.
