Moto X 2013, Moto X 2014, Moto G 2013, Moto G 2014, and Moto E will reportedly receive Android 5.1 Lollipop OS update this month.

Motorola recently announced that it began soak testing the software to its various devices and consumers can expect the new operating system to arrive by month's end.

Below is the status of the Android 5.1 Lollipop OS update Moto X 2013, Moto X 2014, Moto G 2013, Moto G 2014, and Moto E series.

Moto X 2013

Moto X 2013 will reportedly receive the Android 5.1 Lollipop OS update in the next few days after Motorola's product manager David Schuster announced in his Google+ account that the soak test for Android 5.1 OS update in Moto X 2013 has begun.

"Hey guys, quick update here for Moto X (1st Gen). We have started full soak testing again in the U.S. on the 5.1 Lollipop upgrade for our retail channels. If the data looks good, we'll move to full deployment in about a week."

Schuster added that Motorola started a full soak test for Brazil retail and Rogers in Canada.

Moto X 2014

Moto X 2014 users will get the Android 5.1 Lollipop OS update after Motorola reported halted the testing of the software after a an issue was detected. Schuster updated the consumers saying that the company developers detected an issue during the soak testing for Moto X 2014. However, he also assured that the company have identified the fix for the said issue and is testing it internally this week and will send it to deliver it to carriers next week. In short, Motorola has not come up with a definite release date for the OS update for Moto X 2014.

According to TechWorm, Moto X 2014 will receive the Android 5.1 Lollipop OS by the end of June or by mid-July.

Moto G 2013 and Moto G 2014

Moto G 2013 and Moto G 2014 are currently running on Android 5.0.2 Lollipop OS. According to Geek Snack, it is highly unlikely that the smartphones will receive further Android updates.

Moto E

Verizon Moto E 2014 recently received Android 5.1 Lollipop OS via Over-The-Air. Meanwhile, the first generation of Moto E has not received the release notes for Android 5.1. According to the XDA developers forum, Android 5.1 Lollipop is undergoing soak testing on the Moto E 1st Gen. However, the official roll out has not been announced yet.
