Currently, HTC One M8 Google Play Edition runs with Android 5.1 Lollipop, while the rest of the HTC One M8 users are still stuck with the Android 5.0 Lollipop OS.

According to Geek Snack, HTC will no longer release the Android Lollipop 5.1 update for the HTC One M7. However, the company has not confirmed or denied the speculation so far, hence clarity on the matter is still awaited.

There is also a rumor that LG is planning to upgrade the LG G3 devices directly to the upcoming Android M instead of Android 5.1 Lollipop. Currently, LG G2 and LG G3 are functioning on Android 5.0.2 Lollipop and users are waiting for the update, as there are a number of issues. Android 5.1 Lollipop update comes with fixes for problematic battery life and performance enhacements, hence the users are waiting for the update.

LG has not committed to Android 5.1 Lollipop release date for LG G2 and G3, according to Gospel Herald. In the past as well, LG was the last company to roll out the Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update to its users. Hence, there is a slight chance that LG G2 and G3 users may get the Android Lollipop 5.1 update in the coming months.
