Samsung is likely to advance the Galaxy Note 5 release date from September to August 2015, a new report said. The reason behind the move is purportedly to jump the gun on Apple, which is expected to unleash the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus in late September.

The second 2015 Samsung flagship will reportedly change its scheduled rollout course, normally introduced during the annual IFA Berlin trade show in September before hitting store shelves in the following weeks, to avoid tussling with the upcoming iPhone refresh this year, G4Games said in a report. The Galaxy maker, however, has not issued an official word on the matter.

Blog operator GSM Dome, however, is offering its assumption that such a decision could only be confined in Samsung's home base. South Koreans could be getting the Note 5 ahead of most markets, the report said.

If the information, which the report said came from a Chinese blog post, will prove correct then it is likely that Samsung is merely trying to avoid the perceived juggernaut that the iPhone 6S would be. Analysts have been saying that the 6S could easily exceed the record-breaking iPhone 6 sales in the last two quarters.

Apple cleared out nearly 75 million smartphone units in December 2014 bannered by the iPhone 6 and in March 2014 the tech giant sold more than 50 million iPhones. The trend is expected to continue by the end of June before hitting the peak point in the third quarter of 2015.

In contrast, Samsung has admitted that its 2014 flagship, the Galaxy S5, failed to meet expectations. The Galaxy S6, on the other hand, generated positive reviews and reception when it was pushed earlier this 2015 but reports are widespread that the actual buy figures remain lagging with that of the iPhone 6.

Without confirming anything, it is likely that Samsung is adjusting its release calendar and reconfiguring its marketing approach to take advantage of consumers' sentiments. The Asian tech giant could be banking on the likelihood that many buyers would grow impatient waiting for the 2015 iPhones and turn their attention instead on the Galaxy Note 5.

As the fifth incarnation of the original phablet, the Note 5 promises to be the best version ever with the build and design likely to mirror what was seen in the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge. The twin handsets won immediate raves with their stunning finish that is made of metal and glass materials. The latter material was rendered slightly curvy in the S6 Edge that experts labelled as the most gorgeous Samsung flagship.

Yet while mostly replicating the outer template set by the S6, the Note 5 is also expected to significantly bump up on component specifications. The Galaxy phablet is said to feature a 5.7-inch Quad HD display panel in 2K resolution, an 8-core Exynos 7422 processing chip, a powerful 4100mAh battery and the latest technology in the mobile device industry such as the UFS 2.0 Flash drive and USB Type-C connector.

The chance is quite high too that the Galaxy Note 5 will be among the first Android flagships to flash the beauty and might cooked up by Google with the upcoming Android M. The mobile operating system is likely to touchdown at around the same time of the Samsung Note 5 unboxing.
