"Married at First Sight" star Jamie Otis revealed that the contestants were unaware that they were about to marry complete strangers until the final casting. The reality star, however, claimed that she did not regret joining the show as she was able to meet her now husband Dough Hehner.

In an interview with People, Otis shared that the series producers only revealed that the love experiment entails contestants to marry a complete stranger during the final casting. She shared that more than half of those who auditioned decided to leave after the announcement.

The reality star, however, decided to stay as she was not having much luck on her own finding a partner. She believes that a team of experts could help her find "The One."

"The First Year" star revealed that like other couples, who met the traditional way, she and husband Hehner had experienced challenges in their relationship. She added that both parties had to give it their all to make the marriage work.

Otis also came to the FYI series' defense, amidst speculations that the reality series is heavily edited to create drama. She claimed that the series truly was able to properly document happens during the couple's first weeks of marriage. She also added that the contestants were just like any other couple who fight and make up.

Otis' statement was made in response to the various controversies surrounding the "Married at First Sight" season 2 couples: Jaclyn and Ryan R, Davina and Sean and Jessica and Ryan D. As Reality TV World reported, all of the three couples have decided to end their marriage.
