Generally, Samsung releases their phones in the first quarter of the year and this is the first time that they are deviating from the norm. Also, this will be the first time that Samsung may launch two versions of the Galaxy series in the same year, according to Digitimes. If the rumors proved to be true, then Samsung will launch the Galaxy S7 around three months ahead of schedule.

The sales of Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge were much below expectations and perhaps that is another reason behind pre-poning the release of Galaxy S7. According to estimates, Samsung hopes to sell around 45 million units of the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge by the end of 2015, according to Phone Arena.

There are also rumors that Samsung is focusing on its high-end devices so as to offer better competition to the other brands. In this regard, it is expected that Samsung Galaxy Note 5 may see a launch this year as well.

Samsung had launched the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge to a lukewarm response from the customers. There are also strong rumors that Samsung is working on a Galaxy S6 Edge Plus to offset the competition.
