Authored by David Howard, the book is based on a true story and centers on FBI's initially incursion into white collar crime combat. It also follows two young FBI agents engage with Phil Kitzer, who is the overall mind behind a number of multi-million dollar systems.

Aside from holding an array of schemes, Kitzer is also the leader of "The Fraternity," which is a group of interconnected allies. "Chasing Phil" also has an alternative description of "Wolf of Wall Streets" meet "Goodfellas".

Downey Jr. is set to play the role of the multi-million dollar mastermind, which diverges from his protagonist roles like Iron Man and Sherlock Holmes, Slash Film reported. Warner Bros. has no confirmation yet on the other members of the cast.

The actor has recently appeared as Iron Man in Joss Whedon's superhero film, "Avenger: Age of Ultron". His character will next be seen in conflict with Captain America in Joe and Anthony Russo's third movie installment, "Captain America: Civil War".

"Captain America: Civil War" is slated to premiere on May 6, 2016 while "Chasing Phil" has no known release date yet.
