Most Android fans would want LG to build the Nexus 2015 on release date, preferring to continue on their love affair with the South Korean company, which was responsible for the Google flagship that came out in 2013 - the Nexus 5.
In a survey conducted by blog site Android Pit, Nexus users have indicated that they will more likely pick up the 2015 refresh if Google would tap LG as its partner on the project. Some 45 percent of those polled overwhelming picked LG over other candidates, including Huawei that garnered only six percent of support.
If rumors are to be believed, LG and Huawei are said to both participate in the Nexus 2015 project with the former taking on the Bullhead variant while the latter, one of the biggest tech firms from China, will take charge of the Angler edition. Google, however, has yet to issue any statement on the matter.
But Android fans appeared to have made up their minds - LG fits the bill likely on the account of the company's excellent work with the Nexus 5 two years ago. The handset has become a cult favorite and is perceived as more popular than the phablet-size Motorola Nexus 6.
The survey signalled that Nexus users would want to see this year's model to largely reflect what were seen with the Nexus 5, Android Pit said, but with considerable upgrades in today's smartphone standard.
Coming in as distant second is Sony of Japan, which the survey showed attracted 11 percent of the voters. If considered by Google, the consumer electronics giant will likely pattern the Nexus 2015 after its sleek flagship - the Xperia Z4.
Also on top of the list are Motorola and Samsung. Motorola boasts of its Moto X that has garnered impressive fanbase for its near-pure Android operating system and features that users find as both innovative and practical.
Samsung, on the other hand, is not new to the Nexus realm as the Galaxy maker holds the distinction of making the first Nexus smartphone. The Korean tech giant will most likely build the Nexus 2015 around its gorgeous Galaxy S6.
But it looks like that for many in the Android world, the LG G4 is the perfect base model for the next Nexus. This is hardly surprising, according to Android Origin, as "has absolutely aced the LG G4 release this year."
Still, the final word on the subject rests on Google and the company will only clarify everything through the Nexus 2015 release date, which is pegged to happen in the last quarter of 2015.
