With James Gunn's "Guardians of the Galaxy 2" hitting theaters in two years, "Escobar: Paradise Lost" actor Benicio del Toro has talked about his character, The Collector.

In his interview with IGN, the actor said that he would like to preserve his role as The Collector, though it is a minor one. Del Toro added that he would like to develop various sides of the character, mirroring its role in the comic books. While he has worked with Gunn and the rest of the cast, the decision is not on his hands.

Aside from Del Toro's potential appearance in Gunn's "Guardians of the Galaxy 2," the actor is also set to appear in Terrence Malick's musical drama "Weightless" next year and in Harmony Korine's crime thriller film "The Trap" in 2017.

Just like the Mad Titan, Thanos, The Collector is also interested in collecting the Infinity Stones, which may suggest his potential appearance in Gunn's "Guaradians of the Galaxy 2" as well as in Joe and Anthony Russo's duology "Avengers: Infinity War," according to Cinema Blend.

Right now, not much information is known on the plot of the film. However, director Gunn has already revealed that fans will see again the five members of the titular group, as well as Nebula, Yondu, and Kraglin. More information can be disclosed soon as production may possibly commence next summer.

"Guardians of the Galaxy 2" stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper (voice), Vin Diesel (voice), Karen Gillan, Michael Rooker, and Sean Gunn, among others.

Gunn's "Guardians of the Galaxy 2" is slated to premiere on May 5, 2017.
