The much-touted video of Selena Gomez's new single, "Good For You" has finally been released, showcasing a more confident and grown-up artist.

Gomez had exhibited the same trademark looks of pouty lips and come-hither look in previous tracks, notably  "Come & Get It" and "Slow Down," but in the new video, she oozes with sensuality. The single climbed to the top of the charts in iTunes prior to the video release.

Close observers had noted that unlike her "I Want You To Know" music video that included rumored boyfriend Zedd, the new video features a very seductive Gomez without rapping sensation A$AP Rocky.

Sophie Muller, who helmed the video, said she aligned the video with the first stripped-down version of the new single that Gomez had excitedly tweeted to fans earlier this week, People reported.  Hence, she gave it a minimalist treatment. The song called for a  solo Gomez conveying her inner longings while lounging on the couch, in the shower room, and even on the floor.

The controversial singer, who made headlines for her on-and-off again relationship with Justin Bieber, has been quite active posting photos of her personal and work-related activities on Instagram.  Some of her snaps include her gal pals and fellow chart-toppers Taylor Swift and Ellie Goulding.

Gomez lost no time in retweeting the Billboard news that the track featuring A$SAP Rocky, is leading the top 140 trending hits. A few months ago, Gomez also struck a goldmine with a collaboration with rumored boyfriend Zedd.  The upbeat  track, "I Want You To Know" soared in the Hot 100 chart, Billboard reported.

Gomez will turn 23 this July, and fans have heaped her with tons of praises for gradually but successfully transitioning into a mature individual and performer. Music industry pundits cannot help but wonder, though, if she has really 'passed the test' career-wise, as one of her song lyrics go.
