Bill Cosby is fighting hard to keep the details from the 2005 sex assault lawsuit a secret, while he is sued by his homeowners insurance provider in another lawsuit.

The comedian's lawyers argued vehemently on June 26, Friday, that if the details of lawsuit become public, it will be terribly embarrassing for the 77-year-old comedian, as he  did not negotiate the 2005 settlement thinking his sworn deposition would one day be made public, People reported.

Cosby was accused by a former Temple University employee, Andrea Constand, in 2005 that the comedian sexually assaulted her in 2004.  She reportedly filed a suit after reporting the matter to police, under which she reached a confidential settlement.

Although Cosby has always staunchly denied any sexual misconduct and has never been charged, he seems to be in fear that the details of the lawsuit settlement can reveal intimate details about his drug use, marriage and sex life.

Lawyer George M. Gowen, on behalf of Cosby, argued that the details will also prejudice him in the eyes of the jury pool in Massachusetts, referencing to the three lawsuits the 77-year-old comedian is facing by his accusers for denying the sexual misconduct.

Recently, there was a request for the court to unseal the docs of the case, which was met with a strong opposition from the Cosby's camp. The judge, who is yet to rule on whether the settlement will be unsealed or not, was reportedly puzzled to know that the popular stand-up comedian will be embarrassed by his own facts and statements.

Meanwhile, as the list of Cosby's accusers swelled to 40, he has been slapped with another lawsuit, this time by his insurance company. AIG Property Casualty Company filed in U.S. district court in Massachusetts that the company is not financially responsible for any judgment stemming from the sexual assault allegations raised on the comedian, TMZ reported.

The comedian's homeowners insurance provider has also named Tamara Green, Therese Serignese and Linda Traitz, who are suing Cosby for defamation, as defendants.
