With Peyton Reed's "Ant-Man" coming to theaters in the second half of the month, Marvel has released an extended trailer and it showed how the tiniest superhero learned to shrink as he tested his Ant-Man suit.
The extended clip started off with Scott Lang, played by Paul Rudd, checking the Ant-Man suit in the bathroom. He wore the suit and stepped on a bath tub. After that, some people came into the room, alerting Lang.
Trying to figure out what to do with his suit, Lang pressed the left red button on his gloves, which did not have any effect. He pushed the red button of the right glove and it activated his size-changing ability, making him shrink.
A man went to the bathroom and opened the faucet, not seeing the small size Ant-Man in the tub. The superhero ran away from the rushing water, but he got caught. The filling of the tub helped him rise to the edge of the tub; however, the water splashed him away.
Along with his signature size-changing ability, Lang's superhuman strength and durability can also be seen from the extended clip, as per Cinema Blend. It is evidenced by the scene in which Ant-Man fell from the tub and broke the bathroom tiles, which is highly perilous for ordinary people.
The use of the bath tub as the setting for Ant-Man's shrinking ability demonstrates Marvel's capability to present action and excitement in a completely diverse manner, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Previous trailers showed the smallest superhero shrink and move on top of a toy train and gun, among others.
"Ant-Man" stars Rudd, Michael Douglas, Evangeline Lily, Judy Greer, Abby Ryder Fortson, Hayley Atwell, Bobby Cannavale, John Slattery, Stan Lee, Michael Pena, Anthony Mackie, and Corey Stoll, among others.
Reed's "Ant-Man" is slated to hit the big screen on July 17. Watch the new extended clip here:
