With Marvel's "Thor: Ragnarok" hitting the big screen two years from now, Marvel Studio Head Kevin Feige has revealed whether Kenneth Branagh, who directed the film's 2011 predecessor, will return as director of the upcoming film.
In his interview with Collider, Feige was asked to confirm if Branagh is going to direct "Thor: Ragnarok." The Marvel Head obstinately said that it is false and he had no idea where the information came from.
Aside from directing 2011's "Thor," the director also spearheaded the production of the action thriller film "Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit" and the live action version of Disney's "Cinderella," which is now the fourth highest grossing film in the United States, after its release on Mar. 13.
"Thor: Ragnarok" serves as the third installment in the "Thor" franchise and it follows the god thunder as he confronts the gods after Asgard was threatened with the titular Norse Apocalypse.
"Rush" actor Chris Hemsworth reprises his role as the iconic god of thunder while "Only Lovers Left Alive" actor Tom Hiddleston will return as Thor's wicked brother, Loki.
At this point, Marvel has not made an official announcement on other cast members and who will sit on the director's chair to helm the upcoming film. According to Cinema Blend, Feige may give an official statement this summer.
Feige is producing "Thor: Ragnarok," along with Christopher Yost and Craig Kyle, who are on board to write the screenplay for the forthcoming movie.
"Thor: Ragnarok" is slated to premiere in theaters on Nov. 3, 2017.
