For the actor, receiving a letter from an iconic director is a "big deal" and signifies that he has made himself a true actor, as per Cinema Blend. While he has played various roles, such as legendary characters and action stars, the message has got the better of him and has given him a sense of youth.

In June, Johnson also expressed his gratitude to the director's encourage words by leaving a post on Instagram. He also considered Spielberg's letter as his "coolest gift," as seen in one of the hashtags in his post on the social media platform.

Johnson was last seen as a rescue-chopper pilot who bravely saves his family from peril in Brad Peyton's action thriller "San Andreas," which grabbed the top spot in the box office charts on its opening weekend.

Known as Hobbs in the "Fast and Furious" franchise, Johnson will also reprise his role in the upcoming "Furious 8," which is slated to hit the big screen on April 14, 2017.
