Many industry analysts account Internet Explorer's success to its integration with Microsoft Windows which runs on almost 95 percent of all the worlds' computer. Despite its success, Microsoft has already announced that a new browser called Edge will replace Internet Explorer as the default browser in the upcoming Windows 10 operating system.

Microsoft Windows 10 with the integrated Edge browser will be released on July 29.

While Microsoft Internet Explorer sits comfortably on top of everyone else, the most interesting clash is between Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome for the second spot. Google Chrome has seen a steady rise in terms of Internet traffic, while Mozilla Firefox's share is steadily declining.

According to CNet, many Internet user prefer Google Chrome which is cleaner and less bloated compare to Mozilla Firefox. Google Chrome also has a built-in language translator, direct access to Gmail and several integration to Google services.

On the other hand, a separate study conducted by StatCounter shows that Google Chrome dominates the browser market and Internet Explorer is in second place followed by Mozilla Firefox. The difference can be traced to the methods used by statistics organization in order to determine Internet traffic.
