Kardashian bashers would probably blame the souring of then Bruce Jenner's relationship with his four children from past relationships to his 1991 marriage to Kris Kardashian. Thanks to the former Olympian's recent gender shift, three of his kids admit their relationship has improved with the woman Caitlyn.
According to Time, Jenner's son with Linda Thompson, Brody, said the despite knowing his dad for a long time, he did not really get along with Bruce. However, after Bruce finally admitted on national television of his gender transition, Brody says he and Caitlyn get along better. He explains: "Caitlyn is actually who she really is and she's living her life finally now as the person she actually is."
Brody, whose new show, "Sex with Brody," begins on E! on July 10, attributes the improvement to Caitlyn being a freer and happier person. He said that people in similar gender confusion situations should not be afraid to be themselves. Brody adds, "And if you're not accepted by your family, there will be people who will accept you."
Another Jenner son with Chrystie Scott, Burt, is hopeful that Caitlyn is a better person than the old Bruce. Burt's sibling, Cassandra Marino, shared that she did not talk to her father for years. After Bruce transitioned to Caitlyn, she and Cassandra now talk on the phone and meet every few week.
Bruce's distance with his kids probably implied they were unaware of his gender confusion issues. However, for Bruce's stepdaughter Kim, besides the rumors that he cross-dresses, she saw him 12 years ago in their family garage when she was 22 wearing female clothes.
"I was shaking. I didn't know if I'd just found out his deepest, darkest secret, and he was going to come after me," Rolling Stone quotes the reality star. Bruce took control of the situation by calling his stepdaughter on the phone within the hour and asking her to keep what she discovered by accident a secret between the two of them.
He promised to talk about it to her one day. He finally discussed his gender transition with his children and stepchildren in 2011, and recently with the whole world through a TV interview and a magazine cover story.
The next time Kim met her stepdad wearing again women's clothes, there was no more surprises. It was the photo shoot of Caitlyn for Vanity Fair. Kim found Caitlyn to be beautiful, saying, "I'm so proud that she can just be her authentic self ... I guess that's what life is about."
