A newly discovered software glitch has forced car manufacturer Ford to recall 433,000 of its vehicles. The recall will include the 2015 Ford Focus, Ford C-MAX and Ford Escape Models.

According to The Star, the recall was made after the company found out that a software glitch on the cars mentioned causes their engines to keep on running even after drivers have turned them off.

Ford Motors said that the main problem stems from the cars body control module software. As a result of the glitch, there are instances where drivers reported that the engine keeps on running even after the key is turned to off and removed. Some reports claim that the same problem occurs after pressing the engine start/stop button.

Ford Motors claim that no injuries or accidents were reported related to the glitch. According to Daily Finance, Ford dealers will update the software for free. Owners of the affected vehicles could bring their cars to their dealers in order to be fixed.

Of the 432,000 affected vehicles, 375,000 were sold in the United States, 52,000 were delivered in Canada and 5,000 were sold in Mexico.

All the three car models that were part of the recall were manufactured since 2014. The 2015 Focus and the C-MAX vehicles were manufactured at the Michigan Assembly Plant while the 2015 Escape was built at the Louisville Assembly Plant.

Ford issued a statement on Thursday saying, "This is a compliance issue with FMVSS 114 regarding theft protection and roll away prevention."

Prior to the most recent recall, Ford previously issued a recall order for 203,500 Escape sports utility vehicle and Transit Connect vans due to malfunction in the seatbelt and instrument panel.
