LG is the chosen one as a new report claims that Google is most likely to partner with the South Korean device for the Nexus 2015 release date. But contrary to earlier reports, the next-generation Nexus flagship will not be built around the LG G4, the report added.

Also, the plan doesn't include modelling after the next Nexus from the Nexus 5, which LG had assembled for Google in 2013 as Android Pit reported that the tech giant is more inclined to build the device from zero.

"LG will build the upcoming Nexus smartphone, but it will be based on an unreleased prototype," added the blog report. Android Pit kept the name of its source unknown, saying the information it got was provided "on condition of anonymity because the device is still in development."

There was no mention, however, in the report if Google and LG have issued comments on the matter.

Yet LG taking charge of the Nexus 2015 project is hardly a surprise as the company apparently made a good connection with the Android crowd when it first manufactured the Nexus 4 in 2012 then followed the gizmo up with the more beloved Nexus 5. The perception prevails that the two Nexus models were not eclipsed by the Motorola Nexus 6 last year despite Google's efforts of packing the device with more powerful components than the previous models.

So it makes sense that in order to replicate the relative success of the Nexus 4 and 5, Google would tap LG and make use of the so-called tried and tested formula.

The new development, however, runs in counter with recent reports that say two Nexus variants are up for unboxing later this 2015. One will be made by LG, a 5.2-inch handset, and the other - a supersized edition with a 5.7-inch screen profile - will be rolled out from China, specifically from Huawei.

In a related report, Tech Radar said that the chance is high that a Huawei Nexus remains in the pipeline as Google has yet to rule its supposed collaboration with a major Chinese device vendor. The indication that it will be a solo Nexus debut this 2015 is at best an iffy prospect at this time, the report noted.

What is certain at the moment is that when the Nexus 2015 release date happens, the unpacking will include the fresh Android M. And there are reports that suggest that device landing will take place sooner than expected, most likely in late September.
