HTC One M10 release is rumored to take place in the fall, although the Taiwanese company may be in crucial state as ASUS is thinking of buying it.
Reports claimed that the follow up to the HTC One M9 will be announced six months after the release of the handset as it did not make a big splash in the market, according to VR-Zone. As HTC has not announced the official release of HTC One M10, there are various speculations on its launch date with some reports saying it will be announced in December, while others pointed to 2016 release date.
Some of the rumored HTC One M10 features are: a bigger screen display with either 2K or 4K pixel resolution, which will yield to clearer and more vivid images. Under the hood, the handset is purported to be powered by Qualcomm 82X with 3.X GHz Octa-core HMP cyclone technology (6 instruction per cycle capability) paired with 4GB of RAM that will deliver faster and better performance. The handset will sport the same storage systems with microSD slot for additional external storage.
Other rumored features of HTC One M10 are dual-SIM support, 27 megapixels front and back camera, longer battery life, and wireless charging feature, according to TechRadar. The smartphone will be dustproof and water-resistant like most handsets. The handset will cost around $650 to $800 depending on the storage variant. However, HTC has confirmed none of the aforementioned rumors.
Meanwhile, another Taiwan-based company is reportedly planning to take over HTC. According to Reuters, ASUS Chief Financial Officer David Chang told the publication that the topic was raised internally.
"Still, the chances of an actual takeover are not big as Asustek is a company that has depended on organic growth," Chang added.
There is a big possibility that HTC will be up for selling after the company suffered a huge plunge last quarter. The plummet in shares can be attributed to the unpopularity of the company's smartphones.
