As IB Times reported, the executive producers of "Fifty Shades Darker" wanted Cavill to play the role of Anastasia's boss, Jack Hyde. Based on the second novel, Christian offered Anastasia a job at his company, Grey Enterprises. Johnson's character, however, refused to work for him and instead took a job at a small publishing company.

Meanwhile, Hyde immediately felt a connection towards Anastasia and began to take sexual advances towards her. When Christian found out about Jack, he told him to leave Anastasia alone. He also bought the company and made Anastasia take the lead. Jack vowed to take

revenge on the couple after being fired. The love triangle between Anastasia, Christian and Jack will reportedly be the focus of the sequel.

It was said that the "Fifty Shades Darker" movie is going to be more of a thriller than a romantic movie. The addition of Cavill and the shift of the movie's theme was reportedly done to attract more male viewers.

The sequel to "Fifty Shades of Grey" is expected to hit theatres on Feb. 10, 2017.
