Microsoft is speculated to be working on the Lumia 940 and the Lumia 940 XL smartphones bound for release later this year. Although Microsoft has not announced its flagships smartphones for this year, Phone Designer released new concept renders of the Lumia 940 on the basis of its rumored specs.

The Lumia 940 concept by designer Jonas Deahnert that can be found on Behance reflects the design of the older Lumia 930. It shows the handset with very thin bezels on both the sides. The black colored model sports a sleek finish on its rear. One of the Lumia 940 pictures shows the handset in three color options such as green, red and black.

Rumors are rife that the Lumia 940 and its larger sibling, the Lumia 940 XL will be the first smartphones to come loaded with Windows 10 Mobile OS. The Lumia 940 is considered as a successor model for the Lumia 930 that was released in Aprll 2014.

The Lumia 940 is expected to come with 5.2-inch display that supports full HD resolution and Snapdragon 808 hexa-core processor along with 3 GB of RAM.

The internal storage of the device is rumored as 32 GB. It is expected to feature a main camera of 20 MP and a front camera of 5 MP. It will come with support for up to 128 GB of microSD on its external storage.

It will be equipped with a massive battery of 3,250 mAh capacity. Since the Windows 10 Mobile is expected to release in September this year, the Lumia 940 and the Lumia 940 XL are expected to release in September or later, Phone Arena claimed.
