Reports are doing the rounds that the software giant Microsoft may axe the surface line. However, it turns out that Microsoft Lumia and not Microsoft Surface Pro 4 may get axed by the company.

In a letter to employees, Satya Nadella, Microsoft's CEO, stressed that some Microsoft products are not working, while other products are. Nadella said in the letter that non-profitable products should be canned and concentration should be turned to the profitable products.

According to a GeekSnack report, it is also possible that the software company may not drop the products. It is believed that the Surface Pro 4 will come as a fresh start in ultrabooks. People are beginning to realize the potential of devices such as Surface Pro 4. Furthermore, Microsoft Lumia 940 and Lumia 1030 are receiving just as much attention as Surface Pro 4.

No one can tell for sure what Nadella was referring to when speaking of reorientation and change. GeekSnack said that their own sources tell them it may be the end for Lumia, but not for Surface Pro 4.

It is important to note that this information is not coming directly from Microsoft, so take it with a grain of salt. The GeekSnack report also said that their insiders say that people should still be excited about the Surface Pro 4. Also, the Microsoft Lumia line-up for 2016 will face severe cut-downs; however, it will not be eliminated.

Meanwhile, according to rumors, Microsoft Surface Pro 4 will be released on July 29 alongside Windows 10.  The Surface Pro 4 will come in two different sizes, one with a 12-inch screen and a bigger version with a 14-inch screen, Design & Trend reported. It will run Windows 10 and will come with a 2,160 x 1,440 pixel-resolution.

The upcoming tablet would allow owners to play Xbox games on their device. Rumors suggest that the Surface Pro 4 will have 16 GB of RAM, twice the size of its predecessor. Some of the other features of the device include USB Type-C port, stylus and Intel Skylake processor.
