The current head of the Taiwanese manufacturing giant, who has already established a broad production base across the world, recently led a 60-senior-executive-comprised delegation to India.

In a July 10 interview with NDTV Gadgets, two days after the visit, he said that his firm will set up 10-12 production facilities in India, a project that could provide "at least one million jobs by 2020," including positions for engineers and skilled workers.

"We want to set up our plants in rural areas and transform those areas with jobs and infrastructure," the Hon Hai chairman said.

Though the firm has not revealed yet, speculations have surfaced the first of the hubs will be located at Gujarat, the home state of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Guo also lauded Modi's heightened efforts to support India's manufacturing sector.

"Modi has pushed for development. I like your Made in India and Skill India. You have software, you have content. You need hardware and now Modi has made it your goal," he remarked.

Despite the developments pushed through by the Indian leader, Hon Hai remains worried over the country's insufficient structure, particularly its lack of sufficient water and power supplies.

Outside Taiwan, Hon Hai is known as the Foxconn Technology Group.
