Paramount Pictures recently confirmed the upcoming release of "Transformers 5." However, it is still unclear whether or not Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox will be teaming up for the fifth installment.

According to Vine Report, regardless of whether or not a director has already been tapped to help "Transformer 5," the film will still push through and will be released in 2017. There are also speculations that LaBeouf and Fox will reunite because the former has been part of previous installments. The latter, on the other hand, has already patched things up with former director Michael Bay.

With this, there are also rumors that Bay will eventually return to direct the sequel despite previously saying he will no longer do so. As of late, Bay is still busy directing another film so his involvement in "Transformers 5" still cannot be guaranteed.

Meanwhile, as of late, Mark Wahlberg is the only confirmed cast to return to the franchise. According to him, there is a possibility that he will return with Bay because they have previously talked about it.

Now, fans are wondering what "Transformers 5" will be about. According to Crossmap, voice talent Peter Cullen, who gave life to the character of Optimus Prime, expressed his thoughts over the decline of the franchise. He said that "Transformers" seems to be taking on an apocalyptic turn, which should not be the case.

This theme was very much evident on "Transformers: Age of Extinction." Even though this was the case, the film still grossed a massive $485 million in 2014
