Gold Cup 2015 favorite Mexico will try to reclaim the top spot in Group C competitions as they confront a hard-fighting Trinidad and Tobago eleven on the last day of group eliminations on Wednesday.

The Mexicans suffered an upsetting 0-0 tie with Guatemala in their second round match on Sunday at the University of Phoenix Stadium, as reported by Yahoo Sports.

Head coach Miguel Herrera could only shrug his shoulders when the final whistle blew as his boys could not even score even if they had a one-man advantage in the last 14 minutes of the game.

Los Chapines midfielder José Manuel Contreras was sent off in the 76th-minute mark after receiving his second yellow from Honduran referee Armando Castro. El Tri was expected to go on full attack mode, but the best that they could do was a long shot by midfielder Carlos Esquivel that hit the cross bar.

Meanwhile, the Soca Warriors are coming off an impressive 2-0 blanking of lowly Cuba in the day's first game, via Fox Sports. Center back Sheldon Bateau and right winger Andre Boucaud provided the goals for the team.

To be held at the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, the winner of this match would gain the top position in Group C.

Prediction: Tough to call as it may go either way, but it would be 2-0 for Mexico over Trinidad and Tobago. Against the Mexicans, Stephen Hart's men will face their toughest challenge so far in the tourney. With the momentum of their resounding win over Cuba and La Verde's disappointment in their previous battle, T and T may be able to pull off an upset and the scores reversed.
