Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 release date may come soon as the variants of the device reportedly passed certification requirement from KCC, FCC, and TENAA.
Before a device will hit the markets, it should first passed testing and received certification from certain agencies that will determine whether they should be distributed in the markets. While Samsung has not confirmed the existence of Samsung Galaxy Tab S2, the certifications from these agencies hinted that the device is on the works.
In June, GSM Arena reported that Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 received FCC and TENAA certifications. FCC is US-based agency, while the TENAA is a requirement for devices distributed in China.
Recently, Samsung-centric website SamMobile cited Korean website Blog of Mobile which reported that Galaxy Tab S2 models have received certification from Radio Research Agency (RRA), the Korean agency affiliated with the Korean Communications Commission (KCC), which is an agency equivalent to FCC in the US.
The two Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 variants have model numbers SM-T715 and SM-T815 that refers to the Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 and 9.7, respectively. Last year's models of the original Galaxy Tab S have model numbers SM-T700 and SM-800.
The screen displays of the tablets got slightly smaller as Samsung is reportedly aiming for more compact-friendly tablets this year. Both tablets will feature Samsung's trademark AMOLED display, a 2048 x 1536 screen resolution, and 4:3 aspect ratio.
Other rumored features of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 tablets are octa-core Exynos SoC, 3GB RAM, 32GB internal storage, 8MP rear camera and 2.1MP front-facing shooter. Moreover, the tablets will have Wi-Fi only and Wi-Fi plus LTE variants.
Reports claimed that Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 release will be in October, but there is no official confirmation from Samsung yet.
