Going to an island to pretend as lovers, prevent a wedding from happening and win back a former lover sounds like a tough and silly thing to do, but, well, people do crazy things for love, right?

Zhang Yu Qi aka Kitty Zhang and Shi Yufei join South Korean fashion model-turned-actor Kwon Sang-woo and Taiwanese actor-singer Huo Jian Hua aka Wallace Huo as they navigate their way in the twists and turns of love in the upcoming romantic-comedy, “Honey Enemy.”

Also being referred to as “Love Rival’s Honeymoon” and “Honeymoon with the Enemy,” the film was produced by Zhang Pengcheng. Thirty-year-old Chinese director Zhang Linzi filmed the scenes in three different major locations: in Fukuoka in Kyushu Island, Japan; in Jeju Island, South Korea; and in the country’s financial hub, Shanghai.

During the film’s July 13 press conference in Beijing, Shi Yufei said that she’s “a big fan” of her two male co-stars.

Kwon Sang-woo appeared in more than a dozen TV series and films beginning 2001. The 2003 TV series “Stairway to Heaven,” shown in different Asian countries, propelled him to stardom.

A highly sought-after commercial model during his bachelor days, the award-winning star married actress Son Tae-young in 2008. “Honey Enemy” will not be the first time Chinese audience will get to see the acting chops of the 38-year-old charmer.

Kwon was cast in a Chinese TV series and in a couple of movies in 2012. He starred in Yuen-Leung Poon’s rom-com “Shadows of Love” aka “Repeat, I Love You” opposite Cecilia Cheung, and with Hong Kong superstar Jackie Chan in the action-comedy flick “CZ12” aka “Chinese Zodiac” and “Armour of God 3.” He played the lead role in the TV series “Feng Hua Xue Yue” (“Wind, Flower, Snow and Moon”) shot in Yunnan Province.

Wallace Huo (“Chinese Paladin 3”), 35, whose first TV series was in 2002 and has since appeared in more than 30 TV series, counts “Honey Enemy” as his fourth movie.

Zhang Yu Qi didn’t attend the press con, and her absence could be attributed to a current personal crisis as she and film director Wang Quan'an divorced this month after five years of marriage.

Jayne Stars reported that Huo and Kwon exchanged numbers as the two became good friends in the set. Huo even gave Kwon a Chinese wine.

Who is the honey and is there really an enemy? Find out as “Honey Enemy” hits the theaters in September.
