The much awaited iPad Mini 4 release will more likely happen alongside iPad Pro launch by fall 2015 and Apple will close the curtains on the iPad Mini series.

The Cupertino will reportedly ditch the 7.9-inch iPad Mini series altogether, following the iPad Mini 4 launch this year at the October event, Apple Insider reported.

The upcoming iPad device is expected to feature the thinnest form ever and have subtle design changes from its predecessor. iPad Mini 4 will allegedly have similarities in terms of design with the iPad Air 2, but will pack a microphone, instead of the mute switch, and only a single row of speakers.

The purported iPad Mini 4 specifications include 2 processors - A9 processor and M9 co-processor, coupled with 2GB RAM, Touch ID, a sharper display, split screen functionality. The iPad Mini 3 successor will reportedly debut with 128 GB of storage capacity as the entry level tablet and run on the latest iOS 9, which comes as no surprise.

If the reports proved to be true, iPad Mini 4, speculated to be the last entry in the iPad Mini series, will launch with Verizon career by October for $399.

Apple is expected to take the wraps of the device alongside the next generation iPhone devices and the new iPad Pro. However, the long-rumored iPad Air 3 release is reportedly pushed back to 2016.

The Cupertino, in an effort to have iPad Pro on spotlight and also to alleviate pressure on Foxconn, its primary manufacturer, will not launch the next generation iPad Air this year, according to Economic Daily News [Translation].

Nevertheless, it is better to take these reports with a pinch of salt, as the company is yet to confirm anything related to iPad Pro, iPad Air 3 or iPad Mini 4 release.
