Country music superstars Blake Shelton, 39, and Miranda Lambert, 31, confirmed their divorce after four years of marriage two months before "The Voice" season 9 premiere. Shelton's friend Adam Levine, 36, has yet to comment on the divorce announcement.

In the past years, rumors claim that Shelton and Lambert are having marriage problems. On July 20, Monday, the country stars' representatives finally released a statement to The Associated Press to address the issue.

"This is not the future we envisioned and it is with heavy hearts that we move forward separately," Shelton and Lambert said in the statement. "We are real people, with real lives, with real families, friends and colleagues."

Shelton and Lambert call the divorce a "very personal matter" so they "kindly ask for privacy and compassion." The two started dating in 2006 and they got married in Boerne, Texas on May 14, 2011. Since their wedding, rumors have been claiming that Shelton was cheating on Lambert with various contestants from the NBC reality show "The Voice."

However, a source recently told People following the divorce announcement that there is no truth in the rumors. The source told the publication, "Blake is just that incredibly loyal and dedicated husband. I can guarantee you he has been faithful to that woman."

Like Levine, Shelton's fellow "The Voice" season 9 coaches Pharrell Williams, 42, and Gwen Stefani, 45, have yet to comment on the issue. Former "The Voice" coach Christina Aguilera, 34, has also not shared her thoughts on the news about the county music supertars' divorce yet.

"The Voice" season 9 is set to premiere on NBC on Sept. 21.
