According to the actress, the sexual assault storyline from season 4 became so powerful because it featured Bay trusting her good friend Tank, who she knew had feelings for her. The two of them attended a party and got really drunk at one point so they ended up sleeping together.

The biggest twist was that according to Tank, Bay gave him her consent before they had an intercourse. However, Bay's argument suggested that she was too drunk to remember giving him her consent.

During the interview, Marano urged fans to always remember that there are three sides to a story: Bay's, Tank's and the truth. According to her, this storyline will once again be discussed in the upcoming fifth season of the hit ABC Family series.

Meanwhile, according to E! News, Marano suggested that one of the girls on the series could be pregnant and fans are speculating that it could be her. It is unclear whether or not Tank got Bay pregnant or her ex-boyfriend is responsible for the rumored pregnancy.

"Swithced at Birth" season 5 will premiere on ABC Family this coming August 24.
