Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 is slated to be the thinnest and the lightest tablet, given its size. The device is just 5.6 mm in thickness. The 8-inch version weighs 256 grams while the 9.7-inch version weighs 389 grams.
However, there are other claimants to the title of the "thinnest and lightest tablet," namely Apple iPad Air 3 and Microsoft Surface Pro 4.
The exact dimensions of iPad Air 3 are not known but it is rumored to be thinner than its predecessor Apple iPad Air 2 with a thickness of just 5 mm.
On the other hand, the much-anticipated Microsoft Surface Pro 4 is also rumored to have an "ultra-thin form factor." The exact dimensions of Microsoft Surface Pro 4 are not yet known, so it remains to be seen who takes the crown for being the "thinnest and lightest tablet."
Samsung recently launched its new tablet, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2, which is scheduled to be available for sale in August. It is going to be available in two variants, the 8-inch version and the 9.7-inch version, according to The Android Central .
Both these versions will be sporting a Super AMOLED display and a resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels. In addition, both the models will also be sporting a deeper contrast and a much more precise reading experience, according to Tech Two.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 models will be equipped with Adobe RGB color standard. The advanced screen technology will provide bright colors and natural hues for a killer visual experience for the users. Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 will also be equipped with adaptive display which will further adjust the gamma, the saturation and the sharpness of the screen's pixel intensity.
The reading mode of Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 will be equipped with advanced features, like the ability to adjust the brightness of the reading window, for less strain on the eyes.
Users will also be able to get their hands on the new gallery app in these devices. This app will provide detailed photos and will also allow the users to shop online while viewing precise and clear pictures.
Both the models of Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 will be packed with Android 5.0 Lollipop and an octa core processor.
