Here are the pros and cons of the update

Pros

In previous versions, Microsoft had always provided its users with many options for updating their software to the extent that users were able to switch off the updates and it was never compulsory, according to The Guardian.

This was one of the major issues faced by the Windows computers because the operating system was not up-to-date with regards to security patches. Outdated software and drivers can lead to other problems.

Microsoft has found a solution to this important problem and now Windows 10 can completely have control over the computer and with the automatic updation of operating system these problems would not appear.

Many users think that updates to Windows are to address issues and ensure the smooth function of the operating system. However, updates provide optimum security to the operating system and protect users against cybercriminals and hackers.

Now, users can choose to be part of the 'Fast' or 'Slow' rings. If users choose 'Slow' ring then the Windows 10 updates will wait for one month before updating their operating system and if users opt for 'Fast' ring then the Windows 10 updates will be implemented the moment they become available.

Thus, all the Windows 10 versions would have the newest software with all its newest updates, thereby protecting the users from hackers.

Cons

Users will have two options when it comes to updating Windows 10. One option will be to download, install and reboot the computer automatically. The other option will be to download, install and then ask the computer to reboot, Realty Today reported. There is no choice left to users to switch off the installation.

Moreover, the forced automatic updates will cover security patches and everything which the tech giant decides to add in your personal computer as part of Windows 10. This could include new software and services and changes to functionality and core features.

For example, Microsoft may want to build mapping software or new media player and then users would have to install them even if they have no use of these applications.

Helen Harmetz, senior Microsoft product marketing manager, has said that users who did not install the Windows 10 updates within allocated time will not be able to see the next security update. The security of the users would be cut-off.
