AT&T temporarily halted the roll out of Android 5.1 Lollipop OS update to the Moto X 2013. The primary reason for doing so was not released, but it was suspected to be due to issues encountered upon release.

Earlier this month, AT&T announced that it will roll out the Android 5.1 Lollipop OS update to Moto X devices. However, users started to complain about issues of the Android 5.1 on Moto X 2013 in various social forums such as XDA Developer site, Reddit, Android forums, etc., according to Gotta Be Mobile.

Owners claimed that the handset now experience poor battery life, some odd static noises or sounds coming from the device, and reboot issues. Moreover, reports claimed that each reboot the device has to "optimize apps," which should take place after major software updates.

AT&T announced that it will temporarily suspend the roll out of the Android 5.1 OS as the carrier will look into some problems in the OS.

Thanks to Android 5.1 Lollipop OS update, the first generation of Moto X now enjoys a myriad of new features like Quick Setting, Material Design, screen pinning and viewing of apps, Smart Lock, multi-tasking and more.

Before, Android Central reported that Motorola is once again inviting willing participants to take part in the soak test of Android 5.1 Lollipop OS in AT&T variant of Moto X 2013. Under the soak test, a number of users will be updated to the latest and help Motorola in combing the bugs and issues off the update before its public release.

The Android 5.1 Lollipop OS update was rolled out to the first generation of Moto X in U.S., Canada and Brazil, but handsets under AT&T were not included. There is no word yet as to when the OEM manufacturer will release the Over-The-Air update on the handset.
