"Tom Hardy's" "Mad Max: Fury Road" co-star Charlize Theron is turning 40 on Aug. 7, and apparently the actress is loving the new milestone. When asked how she felt about reaching 40, she said she feels great about her new age.

In her interview with E! News, Theron confirmed that she has no worries about reaching the fourth decade in her life, since she is perfectly happy with her age. She declared that she would never like to be 20 again. The actress pointed out that "40s rock" and explained that she prefers being preoccupied with couches and sandwiches, rather than worrying about fitting into skinny jeans or "getting into that club."

Theron also points out that she does not think much about her birthday celebration as she is not the "big birthday person." Regarding the birthday celebration, She also pointed out that she hasn't had time to think about it, since she had completed a movie "two days ago."

Theron has been busy promoting her new film "Dark Places." The movie premiered in April, in France, which starred Christina Hendricks, Nicholas Hoult, Andrea Roth and Sterling Jerins.

The actress will play the role of a woman named Libby Day whose mother and sisters were massacred in her home, and the one accused for the crime was her brother. Plot twist occurs 25 years later when she meets a group of investigators from "The Kill Club," who offer a different perspective to the crime.

Theron was also seen on the premiere night of "Dark Places" in Paris on March 30. She was joined by her co-star Nicholas Hoult, movie director Gilles Paquet-Brenner and author Gillian Flynn.

According to Daily Mail Online, the actress had experienced a similar fate as her character in "Dark Places." When she was a fifteen-year-old teenager, Theron witnessed her mother killing her father in self-defense. Her mother Gerda Maritz had shot her husband in an act of self-defense as he was an alcoholic and an abusive man. She kept the event in secret, claiming that her father had died in a car accident.

Today, the actress claims she has made her peace with everything that happened and is finally able to move on, leaving the experience behind her. Moving towards 40, the actress is occupied with new career advancements and upcoming movies.

Theron is a single mom of a three-year-old son named Jackson. With a successful career behind her, she more than welcomes her 40s, claiming that no one should be worried about her.
