According to Gamereactor, the original "Dishonored" was available for PlayStation Plus subscribers for free, during April. The issue date of the Definitive Edition is set on Aug. 28, in Europe, and Aug. 25, in North America.

Definitive Edition will bring extra content, such as the Dunwall City Trials challenge maps and the Knife of Dunwall. In addition,  it will incorporate The Brigmore Witches add-ons, where the players will control the assassin Daud. The story of the Brigmore Witches will run parallel to the original of the game. The upgrade will also include enhanced DLC and graphics.

In addition to the Definitive Edition, the development of "Dishonored 2" is currently in progress. News suggest that the new sequel will be released within a year's time. According to iDigitalTimes,  there are no formal confirmations about the release date, but the expectancy of gamers revolves around 2016 or 2017. It will be developed for the Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms.

In "Dishonored 2," players will be able to choose between the characters Emily  Kaldwin or Corvo Attano, who are the princess and protagonist of the first game. Both of the characters will receive the same missions, but they will execute and react to them differently.

According to Polygon, gamers will have to use the two characters in their mission to save the Empire of the Isles from an otherworldly usurper who takes over the throne. Attano will have his original powers while Kaldwin will receive a new set of powers. One of her new powers will be the Far Reach. It will allow the player to travel into distant places without the character using actual physical movement.

The storyline will be set 15 years after the Dunwall Plague, where Kaldwin's throne will be taken over by a new enemy. Kaldwin will then become an outlaw and engage in pursuit to restore her right to the throne.

Both "Dishonored" and "Dishonored 2" are classified as action-adventure stealth role-playing video games. They are developed by Arkane Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks.
